SAIPR ONE LOFT RACE

 

Each entrant may submit six (6) pigeons to the loft, of which five (5) will be entered for the Hot Spot races. After the final Hot Spot race, three (3) pigeons will be nominated for the Final Race, while the remaining pigeons will be eligible to compete in the Challenge Race.

 

The entry fee per team is ZAR 30,000. A maximum of 150 teams (Krugersdorp loft) and 100 teams (Cape Town) will be accepted, after which the loft will be closed to further entries.

Intake dates are as follows:

  • Winter Series:

    • Krugersdorp Loft – closes end of February

    • Cape Town Loft – closes end of March

  • Summer Series: closes end of August

 

A maximum of three (3) teams per entrant is permitted.

 

Quarantine costs are for the entrant’s account. International shippers will be identified and appointed by the organisers.

 

It is the SA PRESTIGE INTERNATIONAL RACE’S commitment:

The organisers will provide facilities capable of housing 750 racing pigeons at the Krugersdorp Loft and 500 racing pigeons at the Cape Town Loft, maintained in an acceptable and controlled environment to ensure optimal health and excellent racing conditions.

 

A qualified pigeon trainer with proven experience and a thorough understanding of a single-bird loft system will be appointed to maximise performance and secure competitive racing results. Adequate support staff will be provided to assist the Loft Manager, enabling each pigeon to perform to the best of its natural ability.

 

The health and welfare of all pigeons will be prioritised at all times. The Loft Manager and trainer will ensure that all required vaccinations and treatments are administered as and when necessary. Management will further ensure that all pigeons are adequately prepared and trained prior to the commencement of road training.

 

The road training programme will be announced in advance and managed by the management team. The four (4) Hot Spot races will be clearly identified and communicated to all entrants.

 

The Final Race distances will be approximately:

  • 570 km for the Winter Series

  • 450 km for the Summer Series

 

Final race dates are scheduled as follows:

  • August – Krugersdorp Loft (Winter Series)

  • End of September – Cape Town Loft (Winter Series)

  • February – Summer Series (Krugersdorp and Cape Town Lofts)

 

All entry fees must be paid into the official SAIPR bank account, as displayed, to ensure that all prize monies are fully guaranteed. SAIPR reserves the right to draw down from entry fees to cover costs associated with hosting and managing the event.

 

Benzing Live will provide official results for all training flights, Hot Spot races, and the Final Race. Results and averages for all participants will be published accordingly.

 

SECURITY TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

All entered pigeons will be handled with the highest possible security. All the bird’s identities will immediately be concealed in such a manner, that no participating member or management will be able to physically, identify them. All the entered pigeons will receive an electronic ring, linked to its permanent ring, so that training and race results can be issued with ease.

 

CHALLENGE RACE:

 

All the Reserve Pigeons qualify for the Challenge Race.   This is updated after the final Hot Spot.  The Challenge Race entry fee is 5 000 ZAR per bird and based on how many pigeons are entered, the prize money is calculated and paid out.

 

POOLS:

 

All pigeons may be pooled for the Final Race at 1 000 ZAR per pigeon.  There are three prize positions: 67, 74, and 79. 

 

Prize money is distributed based on the number of pigeons sold.


*Prize money is subject to there being at least 100 entrants in the loft.

 

Prize money for the Hot Spot races, the Challenge Race, and the Final Race is clearly displayed on the official entry form for each respective series.
